Are badgers in the same league as foxes?

Worse than foxes because there's more of the sods. Remember in my youth when one ripped the boarding off our henhouse and killed everything in there. The daft animal then went to sleep in the shed. Not a good idea, very difficult to kill when three terriers are pitched in. The Old chap eventually got a shot in.

I had one get in the pheasant pen on Saturday night - only a tiddler - must have got through a pop hole - if that was a fox cub it would have been carnage - the badger appears to have come in and gone back out

Why those in charge don't listen to those who know a bit about our countryside, I'll never know.
The problem has been created by political means; it follows that the solution should also be political.

We should be supporting eg GCWT to lobby for a change in legislation once sensible people are running the country ( including the countryside).

Anyone wishing to protect them on their land should be granted the right to so do; equally, anyone who wishes to protect and enhance the commonly held/valued biodiversity on their holding should be allowed to so do.

With luck the severe drought we are enduring will put an end to this year's cubs. Certainly no wormsto feed on.
I did see one cross over the road infront of me last night but it looked like an adult.

Out last night, looked across the boundary to neighbours grass field with large sett in it. Counted 5 cubs chasing each other about playing tag, let's hope they stay their side of boundary hedge!
