Former Hunt stables and kennels to become new homes
And a smithy on the site is to be turned into home offices
That's it then.
A lot can be done with listed buildings as they are converting and not knocking down all together.Quite surprised it's not a listed building.
Reading up on it the antis are certainly celebrating.Saying after years of sabotage they have won and now let’s move on to the next.![]()

Almost a Coventry kid then? I am from the Hillfields area if anyone remembers the good old days before it became a chemists outlet. That's more than a little heart rending to me ES. I was born in North Warwickshire country but the Atherstone often met at Packington and Fillongley a very few miles away. I hunted on foot and rode with both packs in my youth and in the days.of Col Morrison. I also whipped in and on occasions hunted the NW Harehounds.
The same thing happened to the North Warwickshire foxhound kennels at Kenilworth and that was due to Motorways and development. Considering my first sight of foxhounds, cub hunting at Packington, was in 1947 with the Atherstone from my Father's shoulders it's a sad time indeed.![]()

There was a moaning old member from up that way....can't remember his name something to do with horses...Half and half, Hampton in Arden, North Warwickshire country. His own private chapel in the hall or St James's church, Great Packington, in the park?I got married in Lord Aylesford’s private chapel at Packington.
You are quite correct - I meant St James’ not the chapel in the hall. His own private chapel in the hall or St James's church, Great Packington, in the park?
A lot of keeper's buried there in the park one.
A lovely little church, two brothers, one who was a beat man at Packington and one who was our village keeper are buried there along with several more from Packington, if over there I usually pay my respects with a visit. One of them shot a Muntjac in 1937 on a fox drive where the M6/M42 meet. You are quite correct - I meant St James’ not the chapel in the hall.
