I bought one a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. Bigger display than the Garmin, comes with a case and metal tripod which is also a plus over the competitors

Captures every shot and exports to a super detailed csv/xlsx file you can stick into any free AI tool like ChatGPT or grok and get a full report on all your groups

It’s been incredibly useful working up loads.

I’ve got one. Brilliant bit of kit. There are others which do more but if you want MV, average MV and ES then this is perfect

I've had mine about a year. Very good chrono, reliable and accurate vs a Garmin, which I've tested.

Agreed myself and a buddy have ran the Athlon and Gamin side by side at Bisley using 4 different rifles over 3 visits. 12 lots of date
SD and ES identical on all data sets
FPS always 3/4 ft per second faster on the Athlon, again on all data sets.
4FPS when your average’s on the 4 rifles are between 2640 and 2975 is totally insignificant with the data points.

You will be happy with either tbo.

How does the Athlon stack up against the Garmin 2? Just wondering about functionality... Resetting the Garmin involves having to go through accepting the parameters everytime which is a faff.

Does the Athlon Rangemaster have any shortcuts to this?

The Garmin is very simple, 2 stages if I remember correctly. I have only need to do this twice in about 15 months.
It will depend on if you record every shot, or have a large number of firearms.

Works great on sub 12ft lb Air rifles as well

The Athlon has on start up an option to enter lots of data or save to a specific rifle ir scope combo or a quick start.
For me its just easier to use, set up and read. The Xero 2 has a few more functions than the 1 which if you are going to use then it maybe worth the xtra money and effort.
Me?, i want one I can use for air, rf and cf without messing about. The Athlon does that.

On the Athlon, you can go through adding projectile weight. However there is a quick start option.
If only shooting one rifle I use the quick start, 2 rifles, I set the weigh on the heavier bullet, 3 or more for every one.
