Look these aren't the best but if you are on a tight budget read on.
The ATN ots xlt 160 is a basic thermal sold for around £500. I don't want £500.
I'm thinking £300 so let's talk.
First though, about the unit. It's only three months old and work's as it should.

What is it good for. Seeing a heat source identifiable as rabbits, hares and fox at about 100yds plus. After that your kind of guessing unless you see the target moving and thus it's habits.
So say upto 300yds you can see and work out it's a hare by its nature of usually being still and or a hopping motion when moving.
Fox at that distance will be bigger and moving with a straight back line etc.
So while the detail is missing it's still useful. You can see cattle or horses for over a thousand yards.
It's small size is good and helps you find lost game.
It's good for rat shooting.

What it is not so good for is finding squirrels in trees. Due to its small screen and at close range it's field of view is limited.
If you are on a tight budget grab a bargain.
Comes in original box, instructions, soft case and lanyard.
Any questions just ask.
£300+£10 postage. I'd want to insure it's posting.
Of course you can come in person.
I'm on the Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire borders.
Near market Drayton and or Jct 15 M6.IMG_20230904_144725.webp

I've been on the lookout for a thermal with all the recommendations being well over the £1k mark !

I'd be using it for Deer spotting mainly. And not at huge ranges.

Although I doubt I could get away with spending £300 more on shooting at the moment, would you recommend it at all?

I'm just a recreational stalker and can't warrant paying the top brand prices, although I cannot fault their quality and reliability.

@chelsea7513 For deer it would work great.
The larger the target the better.
It identifies sheep, cattle and horses hundreds of yards away and it will show them up tucked in woodland.
As stated it's not going to work like the more expensive units but will definitely tell you which direction to be looking in and what you are looking at.
