ATN X SIGHT 5 LRF 5-25

Well that was pretty easy - the scope comes with mounts to fit to a picatinny rail so if that what you have on your rifle its a minutes job as most of you i am sure are aware

Although still fairly heavy - it does feel very well balanced on the rifle

Been and zeroed the scope tonight and to say i have never used one before it really was a doddle - 4 shots and bang on !
Easy to use - and the zeroing actually uses a shadow reticule of where it was and a solid one as you adjust - excellent idea

Still not lightweight but this is my arm outstretched holding it up without an issue

Really impressed with the zoom - at 925 pm tonight - i could still see a bird box at 122 yards and would have been happy to shoot had it been my quarry - and that is without using the IR .

The LRF seems to work very well

It does not currently with a mini SD card to record on but i believe this is being explored as to the feasibility of adding one

The unit feels solid and well built - the focus ring is also very easy to use and not too tight as many others in my opinion are

Any questions - anything specific please feel free to ask

The zeroing reticle sounds the same as my 4K Pro which I like, weight wise bit lighter than the Aplex 4K LRF and it’s got a built in chargeable battery 👍.
Have you taken it off then put back on to see if it holds zero or if its out by a small or larger amount ?

Also for the haters can you verify after a bit of time that it’s glitch free with no freezing up or gremlins ?
Most digi kit suffers from this to be fair until they offer up firmware bug fixes .

Hi Larry - no i havent - but to be honest i just mounted it on my rifle rail - so im not actually utilising the picatinny aspect if that makes sense

The buttons feel good and solid - i really like the fact that when you are in a screen altering something it does not "time out" on you - meaning you have to re-click through several menus
The rangefinder impressed me as it worked well in woodland - where some of my others have struggled a bit

On the battery side of things - maybe an external battery option too would have helped for the security and peace of mind of "always" having a spare

But early days with it - so far very very impressed

Speaking with ATN - i have suggested they also include the Mini Micro Card thing - so that anyone then really can pick this up and go out

Sounds like you've had good service so far. Nice to hear. Have you been able to get it side by side with another nv scope?
I remember field sport Britain had a blind test of nv units and everyone was really surprised how good the atn was.

Yes i used it next to my C50
I actually like this better - i like the fact its lighter - and i like the fact when you go into the screen to alter something it stays on that menu and does not kick you out after so many seconds - Its actually far easier to use
I think the Pulsar still perhaps feels more positive in its button presses and i like the pulsars external battery option.

I think its great with the ATN that everything really comes in the box to go out that night

I wish they would all put some form of external battery life on the scope for ease of charging - as having turned one on in the past to check the power - i failed to turn it off properly as the Pulsar does a silly 3 2 1 countdown - This ATN is better - it has a Turn off - Yes - No option

I was amazed last night that i could zoom up to 25 and still tell it was a small bird box i was looking at - after sunset and at 122 yards with no IR

If you decide to keep it you can pick up a SanDisk micro SD card on Shamazon cheap 👍

Yes i will be keeping it Larry - in fairness and as i seem to be reviewing it so positive at the moment i think it fair to say ATN have gifted it me to try as i have been "helping" with a bit of market research and user experience

Im most looking forward to their light weight thermal offering - great for the shotgun and ratting hopefully !
