Hello all, I'm looking at purchasing a Accuracy international rifle, I'd buying the rifle in .308 and also have 6.5-284 and 300 norma barrels on my certificate, what I want to know if any of you have had experience with either the AXMC model or the AXSR, and if both what do you prefer and why, thank you

I only have short action AI's, since I have no where to utilize a long action cartridge (well, until recently).

At any rate, I'm unsure about the UK, but the US you can only buy the AXMC used, or as old new stock. The AXSR replaced it.

I've shot both, and TBH, if I were to buy one today, I"d go to towards the AXSR. AI make an awesome rifle, but do not support older rifles for long, once they have been deprecated by a newer model. Plus the AXSR is just a better design IMHO. It was designed (as I understanded it) to compete for the SOCOM contract. But lost out due to a faulty trigger (which wasn't actually AI's fault).

LR rifles have seen a huge amount of improvements within the past 20 years, so the newer models tend to incorporate that in their designs. AI is no different in that regard. More adjustability, more standardization across the product line, more refinement for modern combat doctrines and TTP's.

JMTCW...

I have the AXSR in 338, the most comfortable rifle I've ever used. The adjustment means that it's such a good fit that I can easily keep my target in the sight picture after pulling the trigger, not bad for a 338. Trigger is fantastic for a rifle that was designed for military use.

Similar stock adjustability as the AX50 ELR, but the AXSR is a much slicker action.

Just check it over carefully for any defects....

I saw from another thread you've already gone for the AXSR. Enjoy. I've got one in 308 and now looking at variations for other barrels. Great piece of kit for both target and deer.
