BASC AGM

Are BASC ?
No I've said that and I was looking to do exactly what you've done and choke on the lot of them but just have insurance via an indy company, but someone "can't for the life of me remember who it was" told me I was kinda giving up a part of membership I should have ie.. someone fighting the fight, but that's exactly my point nobody can't point me in the right direction, so either..
A.. I stick with what I have, far from ideal, yep..
B.. I do as you do an bag non organisation insurance and pick one of the others to jump in bed with and probably end up with the same total bill I've got now..
But nobody on here can give me evidence of any organisation that's taking the fight to the enemy.

@Conor O'Gorman It often seems to me that there are a lot of people on here who do attack BASC who are not members but enjoy complaining about BASC and it seems to me if you don't pay the fare don't complain about the bus ride! On the other hand I have been a member for a very long time and dislike the way BASC does a lot of stuff. I did stand for council but sadly, from my point of view, wasn't elected, however some things have to change, @kes on here seems to want advice published but that is silly, don't let the opposition see your planning and the way you are thinking! However Council needs to understand that sometimes the money has to be put where the mouth is. People like Wild Justice often get their way because they are willing to use the courts and I am afraid we are seen as a pussycat because we don't try often enough. We need to go onto the attack when we can. The first Chief Constable to make applicants for the relevant certificates pay for their medical should have found themselves facing the courts because this is a public safety matter and should have been included in the fee, when a "shot by a keeper" raptor turns up we should support the keeper involved in an action for libel against the publishers of this lie. The fact that they do not name the person, doesn't mean they cannot be identified and this is enough for libel. Enough for now I am getting angrier by the minute.

Are BASC ?
People on here say other organisations are better than BASC, if that is true produce the evidence!

Jimbo I see you have put your usual laughter emoji on the bottom of a very well written post..
Perhaps maybe you should try answering the question that both he an I have asked...

But nobody on here can give me evidence of any organisation that's taking the fight to the enemy.
Perhaps there isn't one, you can HOPE BASC will, at some point in the future , go on the attack , but so far it's just a noise maker, more concerned with the impact to its finances than anything else.
The blurb from Conor has gone from constantly repeating himself 'Call me /email me to discuss ' to ' Only current BASC members, no exes thank you '
One could be forgiven for thinking that they are only interested in your money ?

BASC say they will fight for shooting, is that for every shooter or just BASC shooters ?
Either way , its track record isn't great us it ?
C3 sell insurance , they dont promise anything else.
At least one of them does what it says it will, the other makes promises it sort of knows it cant keep , before rolling over.

The question is , do you want to keep financing poor performance, or put your money into a fresh team , and hope they can pick up the torch ?
People on here say other organisations are better than BASC, if that is true produce the evidence
I dont believe that is what's being said, but as above , keep making BASC richer for poor returns , or move support elsewhere?

@jimmy milnes do you think a bad voice is better than no voice? Ive stuck with them this year just as compulsory insurance for a few leases but I will be moving on next year. I will probably go for someone like C3 at half the price, whats the point in paying the extra money if you percieve that its a waste. I know what youre saying about sticking with a group thats supposed to promote/fight the corner but if none of them are doing it then there will only be change when theyre hit financially.

Hey josh, I was intending to ditch them all and just look after no1 by only having insurance
But someone "I really must look back and find the post" said I should have some kind of foot in the game so to speak, so I thought heyho guessing it won't cost anymore than I'm paying now so OK... But nobody knows who's doing the business head on.
Like one of the other guys said maybe nobody is, in which case the lot should be ousted not just one. I know people say well at least they're not kicking us in the nuts like basc seems to be, but burying our heads in the sand and thinking the anti field sports mob that's baying for us to stop hunting for our food ourselves is just as bad in my eyes..
We need a proactive approach.

@jimmy milnes i agree with most of what you just said. Imo we should in the short term leave the big organisations, with the idea of either a reformed org or a new org in the medium term that can start the good fight leading into a solid org that has a respectable reputation and far reaching tangible effects into the relevant ministries of govt and house of commons/lords (something the basc claims to have, i know).

I am a BASC member and i emailed Conor with some simple questions on the voluntary lead ban, the stopping of the legal expenses insurance cover and the crass and pompous letter written by Peter Glenser about inconsiderate Sunday shooters shattering his peace; i got the 'please ring me'. Well i have heard Conor speak on the radio and i thought do i want to listen to someone trying to emulate a (bad) politician and not answer the question? so i didn't bother. Just one thing Conor, don't come onto a forum and ignore the forum members who ask questions, BASC members or not; fight your corner on the forum or don't bother to post.

Its not silly to ask what is the legal basis for the action by WJ.
However, I have researched the matter and now know so no need for BASC, silly or not.
I wonder if everyone knows where the SCA's and SPA's are, how big they are and even what the acronyms mean - do you ?

To be honest, as a BASC member I'd really rather he didn't waste his time. Arguing the toss with non-BASC members on an internet forum isn't how I'd prefer my membership fee to be spent.

i agree their policy of spending it defending the shooting community against threats is much better ....Oh hang on ......

How WOULD you like your membership money to be spent?
Oh wait! You don't get to decide do you?
You're only a member...

Fact is, Connor doesn't answer members questions either, so your answer isn't even relevant.
