BASC updates on general election

I Haven't watched the podcast, however my Conservative candidate has contacted me regarding the BASC manifesto.
In their email, they suggested Labour would increase the licensing cost by 34% (from £90 for a coterminous grant to £120 ish.) A very exact figure and I believe the candidate knows what they are on about.
I am trying to find where they have got this figure from, but wonder if future prices have been agreed regardless of which party is in No 10?

P.s. email forwarded to politics@basc.org.uk

Thanks for forwarding the email. The review of firearms licensing fees was paused due to the early general election being called so nothing agreed.

Conor O'Gorman, Thank you for this information on where the political parties stand. It is very useful to know exactly what they would be up to, and very helpful in deciding who to vote for.

@Conor O'Gorman Thanks for posting this. I used it to contact my local candidates and it has been useful in that it shows me that already two of them say they support shooting, although one of them is my current MP whose response to the letter I wrote him about not supporting the ban on trophy hunting was to forward it to Zac Goldsmith, toeing the party line. I received a response from the SDP candidate who pointed me to his party's manifesto and policies, which was probably an autoreply. I pointed out to him that what he sent me has no content specifically about his or his party's stance on shooting, firearms licencing, or trophy hunting and that without further clarity from him on these topics I will be unable to vote for him.

It's great to be able to easily ask the candidates what their stance is on these topics as it is important to me that my vote goes to someone who will represent my interests. Sadly I think my views are unlikely to be represented by any of the candidates and we are left with Hobson's choice as usual at election time.

Thanks @old 30-06 and @angusb1

Shooting related commitments in the party manifestoes may also help. A number of articles on those below:

The CA has done a wider analysis here:

I got an answer from my Conservative candidate telling me he supports and participates in country sports, from the SDP candidate who said he would broadly support my interests but refused to specifically say he would actually support any of them, and from the Reform candidate who said they support shooting and country sports. The rest presumably didn't respond because they saw no point in confirming they don't support shooting and country sports.

@Greenmist @angusb1 @Mike L some of your candidates may well have replied to others and stopped replying. Or maybe not. Just in case do check your constituency on BASC's website to be sure:

I did that and the two listed there as supporters of shooting both replied, as well as the SDP candidate.
