We are bringing together people with an interest in deer in the northeast, both members and non-members, to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of the British Deer Society.
The Networking Event is open to everyone and will be on 15th July 2023 from 15.00 to 18.00 at Whalton Village Hall, NE61 3XA.
Tea and cakes provided by branch members will be available throughout the event.
The branch routinely deals with all sorts of requests for help. The commonest include stalking opportunities, technical advice (especially on firearms and licensing), and how to get into deer management. This Networking Event should be an opportunity for those who want to ask those questions to find someone who knows the answer.
To help everyone get to know each other there will be two brief presentations. The first presentation is to help people know who’s who in the branch and will be memories of the last thirty years of the branch from long serving committee member Stephen Hyde.
The second will be a presentation on hopes for the future of the British Deer Society over the next five years by Chief Executive David McAuley.
• Tea and cakes will be served throughout, donations of cakes or biscuits welcome.
• Raffle tickets for sale, please donate a prize if you can.
• A bring and buy sales table for those who want to bring deer related items to sell.
• A technical advice table, specialising in firearms, optics, and licensing.
• A wildlife photo competition, bring any photo you enjoyed taking and want to share.
• Trophy competition.
• And a roe call competition (bring your own roe call!)
Try and remember to bring with you cake/biscuits for tea, a prize for the raffle, items for the sales table, technical questions, entries for the photo competition, entries for the trophies competition, and a roe call.
