BDS Stalkers certificate

I completed the BDS Stalkers Certificate 30 plus years ago and wondered if this was accepted as a DSC1 equivalent, has anyone managed to obtain a DSC1 showing their BDSSC paperwork, I fancy doing DSC2 but I’d prefer not to pay £300 for the DSC1 first.
I have contacted the BDS to ask the question so I’ll see what they say too.

You could just do the exam. Should be cheaper.

You’ll need to sit the DSC1 exams and the practical tests as the old Stalkers cert and NSSC didn’t cover hygiene regs as they didn’t exist then.

that's right , you needed to do it within a window even if you had dsc1 & 2 as i did ! I now have two level 1 certs one with it and one without it

And field practices IMO have not honestly improved in my experience. A lot of so called hygiene essentials we now know are incorrect in the new stuff and even more mis interpretations .

The opportunities to upgrade the various incarnations of WSCC, NSCC etc to DSC1 ceased years ago.

You are in the same position I was.
As you have your meat cert, you can just sit the four other modules that make up DSC 1.
I paid BDS £30/module and just turned up at a course at the end and sat the exam. I bought my meat and game cert and a few weeks later got my DSC1.
