Benelli Lupo HPR vs Tikka Ace Game

I Admit it, i have fallen in love with the new Tikka T3 Ace range.

I started hatching a plan to vary a free slot and sell a few things to make room and fund the T3 Ace Game in 6.5...all was well, but then a friend and experienced gun shop owner introduced me to the Benelli Lupo HPR. At first I wasnt convinced by the quasi PRS Hunter styling, i prefer either a hunting profile or a chsssis setup... the HPR is somewhere in between. However, over time it has grown on me and having seen nothing but remarkable accuracy reviews... i am now conflicted.

Does anyone have experience of both?

I Am looking for something that can come out on slightly longer range hunts and let me take part in some low level PRS type shoots.

No experience of the current Lupo, but I did have a 1st Gen Lupo (.270) and it was very accurate with Federal. The downside is that once you buy a Benelli (same as Sako) there are very few aftermarket parts available, though this may have changed as Sportsmans' are now the Benelli importer as opposed to GMK. So, if you want extra capacity mags, it'd be worth researching what the availability is.

The T3Ace, is a great chassis, but the downside is the weight if you are covering a fair bit of ground. It may take away some of the joy with the burden of carrying it over varying terrain. The upside is there are upgrades and accessories available for the T3X if you don't get on with the chassis.

Have you considered
- T3X, and upgrade the stock to a GRS Bifrost / Warg stock which may fit your various needs.
- Bergara B14 HMR

Good luck with whichever direction you go...

I don't own either but have shot both, whatever you choose you wont be disappointed.

Both are super accurate with factory ammo. The tikka was shooting 1/2 moa groups with 168g GGG out of the box.
The lupo was the same with 168g hornady.

Triggers were excellent on both, there's enough adjustments in the chassis to get comfy no matter what size/shape you are.

I'm not sure if the benelli has anything bigger than 5 round mags compared to the tikkas 10 round, if you were planning on doing PRS style matches this would obviously put you at a disadvantage.

I personally would pick the tikka, I think it looks better, is cheaper and has a 10 round mag. I do own 3 other tikkas so might be a bit biased though.

I am contemplating a MDT Oryx. I had the bifrost on a t3 .243 and its nice but inwasnt in love with it.

My FAO has a Lupo and raves about it at every possible opportunity, even to the point I wonder if he has a side hustle..

Agreed, not the most desirable in terms of looks and you either get along with the fit or not. But, one that's remained due to its versatility for fit and function.

Lupo - A 25yr Warranty and the level of adjustability is hard to beat.

I was looking at the Ace Game in 6.5 as well, handled a couple and was quite excited about it, then tried the Bergara HMR Pro (I know, not a Benelli but a similar concept). I preferred the feel and the handling of the HMR for a true "Crossover" and went that way. If I want to switch to chassis later I could do but I don't think I will need to, and I can add a decent Pic rail below the stock for accessories should I see the need.
