Hi all.

Anyone using these bullets?
Toying with trying them in the 7mm-08 when it arrives. Failing that, I'll be using 120gr Nosler BT instead, which were what I always planned to use when the rifle was ordered, but was curious about the Bergers, given the fact they are known as a brand for accurate bullets?

Anyone use them? If so, what powder you preferring with them? I'm thinking of N150, or maybe N140.

The Berger bullets have a reputation for variable terminal performance, with some failing to expand satisfactorily and some overexpanding/fragmenting within the same batch.

I am led to believe this is primarily driven by chaff/blockage in the Meplat hole.

More details can be found discussed here:

Personally if I was choosing a bullet for deer I would avoid the Berger bullets, and instead use something polymer tipped, as it avoids this whole issue while retaining good BC if that is something you desire.

I use 140grn elite Hunter in 6.5.
Very effective on deer.
I did have a complete past through on a row a few years back. Since then, I now just clean out the meplat by hand with a 1.5 mil drill bit with a gauge on it.
