Best fac rated air rifle

Just put in a variation for a .22 fac air rifle. Do a lot of pest control work. Rats in commercial chicken units, rabbits on golf courses etc etc
Just wondering what your opinion is on best pcp air rifle?

Seems the way to go is get one that permits the owner to dial-in the power required for the task at hand. As in drop down to circa 15ft/lb for rats within an enclosure, and crank-up to max for 80-yard rabbits.

I have an FX Crown .22 which does everything i need from close range work, rats squirrels on feeders to longer range work.
Easy and quick to set up the hammer spring and power setting, very light to carry around and cracking accuracy if I do my part .

Sorry buddy I misread your post , didn’t see the pcp bit at bottom , I was driving my gator rounding some sheep stragglers while I was reading your text 😂

So I had a .22 Fac air slot to fill but did not want to spend a lot of money so I went for a used Kral hi cap jumbo.

It's set at 26ftlb and it's a absolute tack driver.

I can rattle rats off round the farm yard and take 70-80yrd rabbits no bother.

Everyone is power mad at the moment but if your looking for something to cover most bases 30 ish is good for all.

I was out on sunday with it shooting rats and I had a few long rats, one at 56 yrds and it just dropped on the spot.

I've got an FX Crown and a Wildcat. The Wildcat is .25 and the Crown is .22 (both FAC). As Larry Lightfoot said the Crown really is a very good rifle, power instantly adjustable and very, very accurate.

I've had quite a few various makes and types over the years but the Crown is probably the best all-round rifle of all of them.

Although old school a rapid is very hard to beat with ample power shot count and accuracy.

Something else to consider they are so simple to work on with basic tools, done a stripdown and complete seal replacement on mine recently she's as good as new, and all for less than £20 it's hard not to love them for hunting they are superb.

Yup I love my Rapid in FAC.

I haven't touched my other air rifles since getting it

I have a maverick 22 sniper running between 35 and 60 ft lb with slugs usually 23g @ 960
Its best if you are ok with tinkering and have a compressor. Beast of a thing definitely a tinkering experience.

Any FX will do exactly what you want it to do
I have FX crown .22 500 mm barrel running at 955 using 20 gr slug , I shoot this out to 120 yards or so . With in seconds can take it down to sub 12
I also have .25 impact running at 980 fps using 33 gr slug or can use pellets at 40 ftlbs
Maverick is very good as well

Groups with my impact at 110- 115 yards

R10 if you are looking for cheaper but solid reliable gun, agt vulcan if you dont mind splashing the cash. I fell for the fx hype and got a maverick and regret it every day. worst gun i have ever had, mostly made of plastic, fps spread all over the place and the accuracy is shocking, you will get told it is the "tune" and that you need to learn to disassemble and reassemble it properly. To my mind a £1400 gun should work out of the box. mainly use my old hw100 now. on a side note if anyone is looking for a cheap maverick 500mm .....

What BAR is your reg set at on the Crown and what 20gr slugs are you using ?

Had my crown 6 years never had a problem
My impact 5 years not one problem. Both of these guns had over 20000 pellets and slugs through them .
You hear some say FX are crap but most of the problems are caused by owner mucking about with them , without have a clue what they are doing & understanding how guns work
