Were do you start ! Hopefully rifle shoots straight, lamp , nv , thermal? Depending on budget , my personal experience is home build nv & I.r , ward 800 , nt300 , night sight, xp50 thermal, xp38 spotter, drone 10x , drone 5x/10x , all do the business, now use the 10x drone & xp38 spotter! Use my own I.r
..all will work find what's best for you , luck , fieldcraft & weather play a huge part , still think thermal scopes getting better, stick with drone for the shot for now , as a spotter priceless, homebuild still very effective compared to what's on the market, do like the look of the 4k wraith ,if possible try before you buy...

Tempted by Pulsar xm30 but haven't looked too much.

A used quantum XQ 30 key would give you longer and readily changeable battery life (and hence operational run time), with a wider field of view coverage for less.

A combination of
a) not doing a huge amount of foxing.
and more importantly,
b) being a tightwad.
has brought me to my present basic gear;
Nightfox (£100ish) ir spotter (runs on 8x AA rechargeable batteries)
Scope mounted Ludicrous lumens T50 red pill, easily removeable from scope using figure-8 mount.
Rifle; steyr 6.5x55, leupold scope (my deer set up)
I did consider a Pard 007 but couldn't justify cost at the time.
Thermal would be nice but remains out of reach for now.
Shot another 2 last night, 100yrds + 180yrds
I limit myself to 200yrds.

Quantum lite second hand unit would be under your £1000 budget and battery life is superior to the xm series for sure. Dependant on your foxing range a torch would work but if you can go pard route it would open up the night world a little more. If added with a good IR torch (or ir laser preferable) then you'll get out to 300m quite easily.

Get a lamp , that said you can shoot a lot of fox in the early , early moring through till breakfast time waiting near thier homes . With the rise of nv and thermals there ain't so many lamp shy and remember only foxes that have been missed can be truly lamp shy

lol spot with thermal, shoot with NV, and dont miss! the thing is if you miss the fox doesnt know what scared it
sometimes they stop after a couple of yards to have another look. but if not, theres nothing to remind them of danger
(a big light flashing at them then a bang and something wizzing passed them)

Twin Dragons. buy the sightmark rear extender rail to attach the scope to your rail

Oh I get that took a shooter out who wasn't very experienced on lvecquarry . He shot the vixen but was way too slow on tge dog and it took months and months to grass him . Eventually got him at extreme range one morning in daylight .
Light went on anyplace and that bugger ran like hell

I can then use it for stalking and foxing which to me is money better spent than on a Nv.
This bring up a new dilemma on what to get. Hik, Guide and Pulsar are all very close with offerings in the my price.
Have to add I'm not a fan of thermal for deer, I much prefer to use bins and skill. However this season has been tough to get on my cull on a couple of properties due to walker. So spotting early morning when still dark will give me a better chance when things get tough.

i can see that trucraft but for foxing a thermal is a must id say, and nv saves flashing lights about
im temped to try a 940nm torch because they give out less red light than the standard 850nm ones

Personally I have a Pulsar Axion Key XM30, and find it's all I need and great for £1150. The adjustable objective is handy to get that extra bit of sharpness, and very good if you're swapping from close quaters (finding deer in wooland) and then looking across 400+ yard fields. Great (if not critical) piece of kit and has helped account for 60+ foxes in 7 months. Not a fan of walking around with a lamp, makes me feel like a lighthouse!
No experience with the Hik or Guide, I've read mixed reviews for these thermals, always thought of Pulsar as a bit more "bread and butter" judging by other peoples experience, thats my perception anyway.
FYI - A few places do the thermals on 0% finance, spreading the cost may make it hurt a little less.

Been there, tried that...went back to 850nM then onto laser IR. 940nM will reduce your viewing range considerably for little gain
