Best new IR torch for use on both the Hik Alpex 4K and Hik Pro - good to 250m

I am looking for advice on what is the best available new IR torch for use on both the Hik Alpex 4K and Hik Pro - good to 250m for foxing, as on some permissions that is the range I need to be effective at, across the valleys.

Saving money is not a criteria, quality and effectiveness is.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated as well as your view on the best quality / type of IR mount for my needs.

Is the Wraith ELS the same as the Wraith V3 ? Optics Warehouse said a Solaris Wraith was best suited but I can't locate that online ?

The Wraith ESL is smaller than the standard Wraith.
Fitting wise i just use a scope mounted picatinny rail and a cheap 30mm picatinny ring and just shim the beam to the perfect position and thats it, never moves bouncing around on the quad or clambering ovef fences etc, i cant stand faffing about adjusting wobbly torches!!

I was buying the new Nocpix Nite D70R, but from all the online content I have seen so far, Nocpix this time have missed the mark with this NV scope. A real shame as their spotters and Thermals are excellent.

It looks like I will now buy either the Hik 4k lrf or the new Hik Pro. Very difficult to decide which. Long range .223 Foxing at night is it's main use on a Tikka Ace Game.

What is your view on NV scopes ?

Out to 250m, mainly at night - I think the Alpex 4K and a wraith will do nicely.

I have the 4K non LRF and a Dark Sun Engine Blade (or whatever its called) and no issues at that sort of range and beyond. Ive changed scope mounts and IR torch mount so am going to check which of my various IR torches is best as I have a Nightmaster 800 and another I cant remember.

I've used a Ludicrous Lumens Night Sabre for some time now with my Alpex and other night vision scopes, and found it to be very good. I've always fitted the IR torches I've had to the scope with a simple double-you type clamp; it's worked fine for me.

Having owned most of them, Sirius XTL, PBIR, Dark Sun Blade etc i’d say without doubt the Wraith ESL 850 is the illuminator to go with the Alpex 4K.
Regarding scopes i’m yet to see anything that would make me move away from the above combo.

Perfect. I have seen so many supporters of the Wraith, that is the one for me. Looking like the Alpex Pro wins the day also, as I have an associate who has had the 4K for 2 1/2 years and now has the Pro also. With the Wraith torch the Pro in his eyes is far better daytime, improved at dusk and equally capable at night as the 4K and the weight and ergonomically he has found it to be a massive step up.

With my Alpex Pro, I have gone for the Darke Engine blade covert 940nm, it’s the lightest laser IR that I’ve seen plus it gives a range out to 400m which is good enough for me as like you I’m shooting at a maximum of 150 to 200m

I seems like horses for courses. The 4k does seem lacking at distance compared to the 4k - a fair bit more grainey image and dimmer with the same torch on both and in moonlight. However the Pro is better in most other respects except you have to mount the torch off to one side. The poorer image at range is a trade off I suppose for a lot of great improvements on the Pro.

Yes, mounting above the pro is a problem but the dark engine blade is very light so the balance isn’t upset much. For my range the covert 940nm is ideal.
