Best option for a first time stalker ?

Right guys just looking for some advice anyone could offer please ?

I currently have a 243 but my firearms office are a bit funny about adding Deer onto my ticket, Obviously I have no experience and wouldn't be planning on going out on my own right away, my current mentor for fox has stalked for years and was going to go with him.

I sent them a letter to remove the mentoring condition for Fox I had, and to add dear.

They said they MIGHT add Deer but will impose a mentoring condition but ALSO want to keep the condition for fox! Ive had this condition for about 2 years now

Anyways I am looking now to get a bit more stalking experience so when I do ask to remove the conditions I will have some good experience behind me!

Can anyone recommend a place to book a stalk with estate rifle and guide ?
My mate said Westcountrydeerservices with Andy Payne was good, You go out in the morning and night , think its about £200 plus then you pay a cull fee and then fee to keep the meat. I wouldn't know if this is good since I've never been!

Appreciate if anyone can offer me any advice :) cheers

EDIT TO ADD: I am in South Wales near Bridgend but obviously am willing to travel :)

If ever you get up to my part of the world - - give me a shout - - I'll do my best to give you some good Roe Stalking.

I WOULD RING ANDY PAYNE AT WESTCOUNTRY DEER SERVICES as in the earlier posts he's very good anmuch cheaper than stated in the origional post at about £130 per day morning & evening and no other fees unless you want to shoot a trophy or want to buy the venison then it's at game dealer rates as normal, i can recomend him as i send many clients to him if i cannot accomidate them and all have been more than happy.

i get dissapointed about 50% of the time mate i get a run of luck and it all drys up ,most of the guys on here will tell you the same ,thats stalking .
the boys on here will sort you out the deer world is a close knit community reputations are hard won and easily lost good lads on here keep trying :-D

Try Cotswold Deer Trackers hes a good bloke with a very positive attitude and will also introduce you into the use of dogs for tracking

Try Nemo on here he has some good stalking and is £80 a stalk i think and he dosn't charge for the shot. The only other charge is for the meat if you want it.

Hi can anyone recommend good stalking companies & inbox me please the ones to avoid.
How much is a fair price for a day & night stalk & what is the going rate for carcass etc.
How much do they charge for a non shooter (wife likes to watch , eat the spoils but wont pull the trigger)
Thanks in advance

Another vote for IanF. Spend a couple of days down there and you'll learn loads as well as having great stalking locations.
