Alas only got the middle one left now, and he’s 14 years old, but in their day they were the nemesis of many a black dog man & one in particular who used to get very upset that they always seemed to be able to ‘peg a bird’ to make it look like they’d found a runner his wonder dog hadn’t found

My girl Purdey. She's been gone this last two years now, and I'll never have another. She was an incredible companion both in the field, and at home. I have hounds now. Very different dogs, but just as much loved. I just can't go through losing another gundog again. It was just too damn hard....
