Blacksmith courses to make a knife

Anyone had any experience with one of these courses? Gimmick or con, im in Essex
Any recomendations?

The big question would be "Who is the course being run by ?" If it's a maker who is well known and respected then the course is likely to be a good day. If it's someone you've never heard of and can find little or no mention of with a Google search then it might be a good idea to avoid it.

Owen Bush is a superb bladesmith. A 1to1 with him would be worth whatever he charged. (I know .. I've spent a few very happy weekends at BushFire Forge)

Twisted Horseshoe Knives, in Suffolk. My kids clubbed together one Christmas, and paid for me to do one of his "knife in a day" courses. It was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, learned loads, and came away with a cracking knife which I now use for skinning all my deer.
Highly recommended.
