Blaser R8 screw cut.

Hello All,

Would anyone mind sending me an image of the screw cutting on the end of their Blaser barrel?

I’ve just picked up a new one and screw cutting isn’t as any of my other Blaser R8 barrels, nor is it as any of the images online.

The more resent rifle was purchased the better.

I think the original barrels had a ‘spigot’ which from my limited knowledge seems to be where there is some smooth metal between the screw cutting at the end of the barrel and the full diameter of the barrel. I believe the latest barrels are screw cut without a spigot

Yes, I believe your right, or at least some where spigoted.

What I’m looking for, apologies for I should have been more specific in my original post, is the detail from the crown to the threading.

Pre I think late 2019 early 2020 barrels were screw cut M15 spigot (thread then reduced smooth section to a shoulder) after this they are now M15 standard. I have 3 barrels and the older one is M15 Spigot and the newer (this year) is just normal M15.

That is the exact detail I wanted to see. Mine is a M17x1 but the method of cutting is the same. It appears to have changed from previous years.

No, it hasn't changed.
From the beginning you had, and still have, the choice of M15x1 or M15x1 Spigot on the standard 17mm barrels.
On 19mm semi-weight barrels it will always be M17x1.

These are my standard barrels with M15x1.

15x1 "spigot" is no longer available on new factory 17mm / std barrels, just 15x1.

If you buy a new barrel with a spigot, it will be old stock.
