Blaser R93 or Not ??

Best of luck in Lithuania Eddy!Let us know how you get on soonest after you return.ATBGeo
Let's start with the day I collected my rifle from the dealer. He had hurt himself during the Christmas holiday so did not have the chance to zero my rifle ready for my collection :(
No problem says he, I have a range just round the corner :) so we go round. I wanted my rifle zeroed 1" high at 50 metres with the low power scope so here we go.:-D first three rounds 2" left and 3" low, adjust scope and ---- plonk ! straight in the middle, adjust up slightly --- plonk, just where I want them. That was my heavy reloaded bullets. Just for fun I tried some PPU grom, clover leafed 1/2" left of my reloads !!
Right now my trip to Lithuania, Not good I'm afraid, 3ft of snow stopped all driven shooting so plan B was implemented, high seat shooting from 3pm to 9pm - not my cup of tea I'm afraid.:(
The first night I saw a large Keiler come running out into the open five minutes after we'd got into the high seat. I had just setteled down expecting to wait when out it came, I was surprised and moved quickly to reach my rifle when it stuck it's head in the air and turned quicker than 'Road Runner' of Disney fame and ran straight back into the forest.
That was it, I took up the 'on guard' position and within half an hour the next one came out, it had not come out more than five yards when I shot it. It turned out to be a big barren sow and was dead within five paces.
I went home after that
The next night I gave up after a couple of hours of seeing nothing:roll: and the third night I stayed in the pub:D
It cost us 51 Euros to take the rifle from Heathrow to Vilious and 30 Euros to bring it back, so not too pleased at all.
I got an 85 Euro rebate from the organiser for lack of pigs but it was not his fault the weather was like it was or my dislike for high seat shooting.
The guys were all good hands and the food and accomodation was superb but I think my next trip to Lithuania will need to be a bit more organised before I accept it again.
