Thankfully mink are realatively easy to trap and realatively unbothered by human scent on the traps so usually walk into a trap pretty quickly if in the area.
Some pretty good advice above and check both BASC and GWCT sites , i believe the GWCT where behind/invented the mink raft monitoring/trapping scheme. Some river/fishery boards have mink trappng schemes and will come on and trap or give u traps and training.
Quite often traps near a constriction work ie under bridges either in water or on banks under bridge if any banking or near where burns join river
