This weekend a good friend showed me a photo he took with his phone of a sow and three young at the roadside where he lives in Cannock.

I heard this at the weekend while on a campsite in Cannock chase. I be spent countless hours up there walking and on the bike in all areas. Never seen them or heard of it. Now it’s on here...... the chase is so busy they can’t let them establish surely.

I saw a report saying they had been caught. The boar is still roaming but sow and piglets were caught in a businesses premises and they have decided to build an enclosure for them!!!

Intriguing... The Chase isn't adjacent to any boar territory so where are they supposed to have arrived from?

Do you have a link for the info on it? Im not opposed to it. I just thought with how Cannock chase is setup for families and activities it would be risky. But I suppose the Forest of Dean manage.

Wife and I saw 1 a boar roadside near the M42 at a small village called Appleby Magna .There is 2 boar farms in the area both insist theyve no escapees so maybe the sows scent is drawing them near .But they would trash the local area p.d.q with their rooting and a tooting a lot of potato farmers would be up in arms so be careful what you wish for ask Elmer Fudd

Now that is really close to me! I could walk there. I don’t wish for it. I just accept that one day they will be here (my lifetime). We humans answer for most f ups in nature. So you can’t stop it. I guess I thought it would be longer than this. I need to speak to some farmers to see if they know about them.

I think allot of the views are more wishful thinking.

I have also seen the dash cam footage and recognise the stretch of road in cannock.
