Hi Simon.

It may be Easter Sunday, I wouldn't know..... My Cousins went to Sunday School as kids, while I went Ferreting ;-)

The format is as follows:

The main Comp' (£5)is the DSC1 Roe Target Test
3 @100 simulated high seat
3 @ 75 kneeling/sitting
3 @ 45 standing with sticks
We also have a "Fun Shoot/Practice on the main Comp Range should anyone wish to have further familiarity prior to them possible taking the actual DSC1 test elsewhere. To qualify for the Comp' and rankings the test must be taken first.

The Pool Shoot (£1)is 2 shots, 1 @ each target at 130mtr(due to range angle) nearest bulls to count

Zero Card, shot on the Pool Shoot Range (£1) 3 shots

I hope this makes sense

Well.... Ok, it rained!! though not for all of it, and a fun day was had.

So here's how the top of the pile ended for the North West Trophy and the Mike Newby Cup.

Main Comp'
1. G Howe 90/30/120
2. B Lloyd 90/28/118
3. T Warwick 87/30/117
4. D White 89/27/116
5. R Barnes 90/26/116

Pool Shoot
1. T Warwick 20
2. G Howe 19
3. M Bell 18
4. K Story 18
5. A Warwick 18

We now have the Alan Waite Perpetual Accumulator Pool Shoot Trophy, which is attained by gaining the most points over the three previous years Pool Shoots. This was presented to R Barnes.

I would like to thank the Ratwife and Bear for their continued help, and to all those who kindly donated prizes and helped out on the day.

Here's hoping the summer shoot on the 18th June fairs better for the weather.

Kind regards.

Hi Daz.

I'm glad you and father enjoyed it. My apologies to father for not getting over to that part of the range for a chat, as I was kept busy scampering up and down that bank all day....

Just a quick note to say that the second "Border Stalkers" rifle shoot is this coming Sunday, same place and time.

Kind regards.

The usual crowd from sunny south Cumbria will be there with jelly and ice cream as it's my birthday also 21 again or is that my score

Shouldn't that read "Unusual Crowd!!"

Managed to lock up T12 this evening, so with that and a ruptured L1 it's going to be a fun, if long day.....

Must remember the strimmer, so no one looses their brass in the undergrowth.

Hi Daz.

lt 's a kind offer mate, l should have Bear and the Ratwife with me so no prob's there mate. Just rock up as usual, and we'll see who forgot the sun cream.

So it would seem much sun cream was forgotten..... Now lets see who got blistered

Chris Batty Shield
1. A Waite 90/30-120 Alan retains the Shield for the second year on a row
2.R Gillespie 90/29-119
3.R Barnes 90/28-118
4.K Story 89/28-117

Ray Barnes Cup (Sporter Rifle)
Was won by Ray himself this year.

Pool Shoot
1. R Barnes 18 points
2. G Howe 18 points
3. B Ridley 17 points
4. A Waite 17 points

Again, a very high standard of shooting was seen and all disciplines were strongly contested (l wouldn't like to see how much empty brass Ray has tonight) among much good humour.
l would like to thank the Ratwife for running the Pool and Zero shoots and to Keith A for helping me RO the main shoot, and to Bear for loan of the trailer.
To everyone who turned up, l hope you had good days shooting and l hope to see you all on the 20/08/17 for the final shoot of the year.

All the very best.
