Bore Tech Cu2+copper remover, stunning results in .204

Some time ago I chanced across an article by Bruce Potts on the above product and how it removed copper fouling from what he thought was a clean barrel.

Whilst at the Stalking show I haggled a very good deal on large 473 ml bottle and last week got to use it.

I clean my .204 every 50 rounds and normal process was Forrest bore foam brush out, patch out and repeat. Then repeat using Bore Tech Elliminator. Nylon brushes and no trace jag.

Normal load is with 35 grn Bergers running at 3,900 FPS so expect it does leave some copper in the bore.

Cleaned as normal until patch came out clean.

Then brushed out barrel nylon with brush soaked in Copper remover. Left for 10 mins and put a dry patch through it, it came out filthy blue green!

Repeated and same result. Well to cut a long story short it took best part of the afternoon to get a clean patch out of the bore.

I shudder to think how much copper was in the bore.

So now a different cleaning regime for my .204.
