Bridge down,video.

R is for Risk Assessment, also Right -RIGHT! RIGHT! FFS!

Looked like they needed to paint the Plimsoll line a bit further up the side too, was it meant to be going under that bridge? Looked close, could of course be the parallax/optical illusion thing going on.

It’s a reminder that no matter what level of Tech you have on modern ships, sh^t still happens and that is likely to include fatalities unfortunately. The captain, navigator and the ships insurance company are about to start a very bad week

Apparently the ship was on a straight course to pass safely under the bridge when it suddenly slowed down, veered to starboard, all its lights went out and flame was seen coming from its funnel
Looks like engine failure at the worst possible moment
There were two pilots aboard at the time of the impact, but if there was a complete power failure, there's not much they or anybody else could have done about it

Cheers

Bruce

Of course it is not without precedent. I remember this Tassy incident well especially the photo of the two cars that stopped on the edge, others were not so lucky.

That would have been one huge 'PHEW'
