British Shooting Show 2024

I was intending to go for the first time and take the missus, she likes to look at the arts/crafts stuff (it's that sort of thing will be there?) we've booked a hotel but can still cancel. I'm hoping to find some boots (hopefully in a wide fit and not too stiff), possibly some custom ear defenders, and look at some better scopes (good glass and dialable without going crazy money), so to you guys that have been before are these going to be likely finds, or will it be a case of try different brands there and speak to my local shop??

I went last year, no arts and crafts, weird looking people dressed in Camo and lots of stand selling the shite second hand stuff no one else would buy from their normal shop.

Useful for the pulsar stand to look through thermals

That was about it

if you are looking for a scope it’s brilliant. all the names are there and you can have a good look through them all to compare.

I’ll be there tomorrow morning - I wonder how many fellow SD lurkers will walk past each other, oblivious of past discussions and spats. I do like the idea of the bar :coat:

We're heading down Saturday morning, I'm hoping (🤞) to have a multitude of boots to look at, possibly custom ear defenders, and I'd love some nice glass for the stalking rifle...but the missus is coming aswell 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣

Visited the show today. It didn't seem to have as many exhibitors as previous years. Rifles and shotguns were well represented and I got to handle the ones I was interested in, but there was less clothing, shooting kit and optics stands than before. Jamie956 if you are looking for boots the only ones I saw were Crispi and Brandecosse. The layout seemed more spacious as I think it was in a different hall this year.
Anyway it was a day out and not bad value for around £25 with free parking, and £20 in petrol. The £4 sausage and chorizo scotch egg wasn't bad either.
I'll be interested to hear what others think.

:-| Interesting, I was there from opening today and came away quite happy at lunchtime. I had done all I needed to do and see. Plenty of stands and opportunities to buy. Yes, some of the stands I have seen over the years were not there but there was ample from me to visit from Bristol. Some very good advice and assistance from the Chinese tech staff on the Hik stand and from th3 regulars on the Thomas Jacks stand. Scott County were doing good business with some nice show reductions and I had a free replacement eyepiece fitted to my Telos by Thomas Jacks - great team on the stand and some very good banter - was a pleasure to engage with them. Overall, I’m happy👍

Bin today absolute carp don't waste your money hardly any stalls with space between them that you could drive an artic between a poor shadow of its former self along with the over priced rubbish food.
That’s unfortunate.. I wouldn’t be going if it wasn’t for the fact I’m picking up a moderator from an RFD at a good price… plus, you never know if there are some bargains and discounts to be had..

Forgot to say, great to see so many FLOs from I think 8 forces and whilst I was waiting to see a Gloucestershire rep, it was refreshing to see a newly printed licence being handed over in the next booth - I counted 6 on that Forces’s stand. Disappointing that Avon & Somerset were not there but it did offer an opportunity for me to speak in person to someone from Glos. Well done to all those who attended.

I'm pretty sure Avon and Somerset were there? But no Derbyshire which was disappointing

Great day for me this time? Plenty of room to see what I did and did not want to see? Plenty of people but not over crowded. Surrey/Sussex FA Team were there to answer a couple of questions and to add had I had my certificate in my bag may have done a variation on the SPOT'. When I explained a simple rifle change but same caliber she was ahead of me with a Blaser switch barrel and spare? GREAT!
I took a written note with me,(Age thing) to visit the stands that I had questions for' the staff I spoke to were more than helpful in every way on each stand visited. In all an enjoyable trip out!

BC.
