Anyone going this year? Last year was the first one I attended and to be honest I wasn't that impressed, going this year but if its not alot better then it will be my last.

Going tomorrow with my nephew, he has a slot for a .223 to fill and wants to fondle a few to make his mind up, I'm happy to tag along for a look, it'll be a 1st for me.

I’ve been about 6/7 times now. If this year is no better than last year, it will be my last. Increased entry cost Vs to any stalls not shooting related (crap knives, Scotch and other alcoholic beverages to name but a few.). Coupled with the falling attendance of smaller RFD’s/manufactures is knocking the incentive to go. I’ll see on Sunday.

It's a dear do for us, price of tickets, hotel and diesel comes in at just over £200 for 2 of us just to walk round.
Last year was lacking in reloading consumables to

A miss for me this year too after several years - has been a steady decline since COVID. Off stalking instead with a mate - fingers crossed he gets his first fallow 🤞

If a shopping trip is what you're after, you might as well spend the cash supporting your local gun shop.
The Shooting Show's USP is that it's where you'll see all the very latest stuff under one roof. If seeing it first and first-hand isn't important to you, then just look out for it popping up on your socials and YT feeds.
I'm enough of a kit junkie for that to be a USP I like; but most of all, I like taking to the people who develop, import, sell, promote and use the gear and services that ensure UK shooting happens.
If hands-on and face-to-face aren't your thing, stay home, keep glued to your phone, shop local or go shooting, but don't expect a trip to the NEC (or any show) to be both a premium and a cut-price shopping experience and then complain when it isn't.
And yes, the Stalking Show is more up my street, but then it's the zoomed-in Ying to the Shooting Show's wide-angle Yang. (Sorry, It's late and I'm beginning to suspect the nurse got my meds wrong.)

Anyone been to the shooting show today, was fancying going to see if I could find myself a nice underlever. It’s 7hr round trip so bit of a gamble

Depends what you want out of such a visit I guess. Picked up a few things and most importantly for me, was able to handle different thermal imagers as I was in the market for one. I can’t do that anywhere else near me easily and it proved invaluable as I changed my mind on what to buy

I am over for 2 days so went yesterday and heading back now for another look .
The main thing I wanted to check out was the thermal spotters as well.
I will have another look today but I think I am going to buy the nocpix h35r.
I was a bit disappointed in the new hik condor. I didn't find the one hand focusing wheel easy to use at all.
What was your opinion on the spotters ?

Hey, hope you enjoy your second visit 😀

I have to say, I was the opposite. On paper, I was convinced I would go for the Nocpix vista h35r. Upon reflection, I have just ordered the new condor 2.0

For me personally, the vista felt very heavy, long and a bit cumbersome. The condor however seemed so much more ergonomic. I personally loved the scroll focus wheel.

Not the same as stalking I know, but I noticed , without thinking, when I played with the vista, I had to put my shopping down so I could hold it and focus. With the condor, without thinking, my shopping bags stayed in my left hand and I was able to use the condor totally with one hand.

I won’t be stalking with carrier bags obviously but will have a set of sticks in my left hand. I also felt the folding lens cover gets in the way on the NocPix

The NocPix has a bigger viewable screen but other than that, are quite similar. Ergonomics won the day for me 👍

You won’t go wrong with either. Both are great units

Enjoy whatever you decide to go for! 😀
