Well I had another look today. I did get on better with the condor if I done the focusing wth my middle finger instead of my index finger which I found very difficult.Hey, hope you enjoy your second visit
I have to say, I was the opposite. On paper, I was convinced I would go for the Nocpix vista h35r. Upon reflection, I have just ordered the new condor 2.0
For me personally, the vista felt very heavy, long and a bit cumbersome. The condor however seemed so much more ergonomic. I personally loved the scroll focus wheel.
Not the same as stalking I know, but I noticed , without thinking, when I played with the vista, I had to put my shopping down so I could hold it and focus. With the condor, without thinking, my shopping bags stayed in my left hand and I was able to use the condor totally with one hand.
I won’t be stalking with carrier bags obviously but will have a set of sticks in my left hand. I also felt the folding lens cover gets in the way on the NocPix
The NocPix has a bigger viewable screen but other than that, are quite similar. Ergonomics won the day for me
You won’t go wrong with either. Both are great units
Enjoy whatever you decide to go for!![]()

I still preferred the feel of the nocpix in my hand so will probably go with it.
As you say both great units though.
What did you think of show mate?Going tomorrow with my nephew, he has a slot for a .223 to fill and wants to fondle a few to make his mind up, I'm happy to tag along for a look, it'll be a 1st for me.
It costs €23,00 = £19.15 at todays exchange rate to get into the Hohe Jagd & Fischeri in Salzburg this weekend, it looks like the UK show organisers are booking up for the full winter 25/26 to Barbados again.nope not for me £30 to go in a gunshop no thanks
If I'm honest Ben not too much really, I wouldn't want to go back. What did you think of show mate?
Not at IWA this year, not even visiting. Most big companies were at Brit shooting show anyway for the yearly meet up. We are booked in for shot show next year. @ejg are you doing the IWA show again this year at the end of February?
Very nice guns! I’ll be getting one this yearDid anyone see the Harkness stand with the German steel action rifles?
Quality made stuff I thought
Forest Lodge is a nice family owned business and well worth a look.If I'm honest Ben not too much really, I wouldn't want to go back.
The only thing I purchased on my little list was an RCBS #10 shell holder from SGC... I couldn't even haggle them down to a crisp £10 note for it, they wanted the full marked up price...
Most of the guns were bolted to the stands, not even on the steel wires, so you had to ask every time you wanted to handle one.
The best bit by far was the pork pie I had for a snack, it was a proper job and well worth a fiver, and spending a day with my nephew, he got to look at all the rifles he wanted to and has decided to buy another Tikka T3x, we are having a run up to Forest Lodge Guns in Lincolnshire in the next week or so to pick up a brand new shiny .223, fingers crossed.
Exactly my thoughts when I went a couple of years back.not too much really, I wouldn't want to go back.
The rep on the Tikka stand (Matt) told us to visit them, they have a big selection of Tikka riflesForest Lodge is a nice family owned business and well worth a look.
I got to have a good chat with Mark Ripley on the Scott Country stand, he took my number and said he would ring when he needs some help/tips on long-range shooting....Exactly my thoughts when I went a couple of years back.
There excellent to deal with. Really straightforward. No need to go anywhere else, any problems, issues, advice always available at the end of the phone. You'll not be disappointed. The rep on the Tikka stand (Matt) told us to visit them, they have a big selection of Tikka rifles![]()
Do they have a good selection of reloading consumables? My nephew needs LR primers and powder to start the reloading journey for his .308...There excellent to deal with. Really straightforward. Usually yes. Ring them before hand as nationally there have been shortages but I think most of that has been resolved. They'll put stuff to one side for you if they know your coming. It's a proper aladdins cave of shooting stuff. Real rifle aficionados too.Do they have a good selection of reloading consumables?
