Build your own deer box.

I have been looking at building a deer box. But I have never come across a way of joining the legs to the platform that I liked or at the price I liked.
Anyway, I came across this and bought some.
Will they be any good? No idea, but they look ok. Arrived a few days ago.
Just need to get some time, and wood and see what I can come up with.
I don’t intend to go anywhere near the alleged 1,000kg limit.

Paid double that for the ones first sent to USA from China. They will make the job much easier.

Top tip - buy 2 sets of 4, its cheaper than buying the set of 8! :)

If the brackets are open topped as this looks like the water will puddle in them above the wooden end grain and rot will set in.

Best to fix them to a wooden ring frame then have a sheet floor of OSB or better still the resin impregnated sheet for open trailer floors. that overlaps like a roof does and build the box on top of that. I woild also dip the brackets in any old paint to give a longer life and use stainless woodscrew threaded bolts.

@The Singing Stalker what are you thinking of using for the flooring of your deer box?

I'm at the same point as you; gathering together the materials but I'm not sure what to use as a floor. Mine will be max 8' to the floor, was thinking marine plywood or treated decking boards, with joists etc. Marine plywood makes it an expensive build...

Will be wooden, free standing and fully enclosed. Probably 4' x 6' floor plan. Using the same style brackets as posted above.

Appreciate any pointers folks.
