As per title, I have an un-opened bulk bag of 22 Hornet brass for sale. I intended to convert this to .17 Hornet but never got round to it and then sold the .17 Hornet so now definitely surplus to requirements.

Really good quality brass and well worth considering for any .17HH users out there prepared to convert it as this is way better than the Hornady brass in my experience.

£150 plus postage.

Hmmmmm what would one need to convert this down the 17hornet ?

case trimmer, cases annealed, case lube, I use a two dies I got made by a friend into model engineering, to reduce the neck down to .17 hornet in two steps, I found doing it in one step resulted in more split brass. Then you need to fire form and trim case to final length.

To save making threaded 7/8” x 14tpi die bodies, we made inserts fitted by thread lock glue that went inside a set of old dies I no longer had a use for. Saved a lot of effort and it was a metric lathe so unable to cut imperial threads.

Got the best results with PPU brass.

A case trimmer and set of .17 hornet dies. As @Liveonce has said, annealing would be a good idea but Nosler brass is, in my experience, quite malleable.

Doesn’t have to be for conversion to .17HH, although it would be ideal for that. Any .22 Hornet users looking for decent brass, look no further!
