Imo like a hole in the head.as think I need one![]()
Thanks for heads up jg, a big consideration me as when I thought I was a hero used to drag reds about and lift heavy weights but paying for it nowImo like a hole in the head.
Bolty oh so many years ago I had one and it was the worst possible POS bit of kit I have had (almost) Every day out I would be back in camp with the worst case of lower back pain simply because the **** of a thing pulled on my hips all day long with the weight down low. Shoulder straps only packs for me.
I've got one ,as an organiser for my truck ,( never wear it though) but as a storage container , I know where my knife , gloves n deet are , I just take out of the bum bag , put in my pockets, n after a stalk put back in the bum bag , it's an organised bit of kit for me , just so I'm not rooting around in the back.of the truck for **** I don't need ,Could someone please point me in right direction of a well made one they would endorse as think I need one![]()
Decathlon do a handy one.Could someone please point me in right direction of a well made one they would endorse as think I need one![]()
That's the one I've got Tim., bought as a bit of kit ,( another bit of kit not required , but to the Op , for a tenner ??? Years ago a good bit of kit ) I used to have all sorts of shi8e in my truck , ( reduced to nowt now , as not needed )Decathlon do a handy one.
I agree! I got one earlier this week (7 litre capacity) sits on the waist comfortably and has plenty of carrying capacity. The trick of course is to resist the temptation to fill it up with unnecessary junk, (guilty as charged, on previous occasions) just in case. I'm travelling to Vancouver Island and city in the summer, hoping it'll be useful when out and about seeing the sights!Decathlon do a handy one.
My swedteam slides off my waist and hangs off my arse. I tent to use it as a shoulder bag, putting it diagonally across my chest, that way everything is to hand too
Kifaru tailgunner is mega. I use mine with a harness. Perfect for a roe sack, bit of med kit to attach my gunbearer and binos to.
If you have a back prob now you will only exacerbate that problem with a bum bag.but paying for it now![]()
Sage words from a feller that has dipped into the water.its under the bench with all the other good ideas![]()
Thanks Paul, am thinking maybe a rethinkI Have one used it once drove me nuts to the point I invested in a pair of Strong foresters braces to stop it smashing my hips .
you can have it for the price of postage .
Got it at a game fair don't know if its a posh name or not its under the bench with all the other good ideas![]()
Thanks jg, no more Scottish hills for me and and nothing bigger than a roe deer all a walk in the park really, but do love sitting for fox’s.If you have a back prob now you will only exacerbate that problem with a bum bag.

My 2 cents was that if you are on a fair dinkum half day or full day wander, not the 200 yards from car to the tree stand you will find that they are problematic in causing lower torso issues. My own foray into it is simply they are not for me, in fact I do not know one single fella here that actually has one and we Aussies are a nation of 'must haves' I was one lol......read paul`o`s line again.
One with a harness gets a 1/2 a nod but a small daypack with the must have quick release chest belt/harness is far better for the hunter that gets off the track and into the hills. Those Scottish mountains look tough on everything and if its your back that has any issues ...use a back pack.
More and more gear just like the lures in a tackle shop are the new thing in town to entice the cashed up buyers.
