Velvet knobby had his nose right up looking down the sides towards me. I had to turn the dial up to 12x to be able to sight through the fern. Anyway RIP.
I had actually gone looking for the three stags that I had seen last night on dark to no avail. I saw sfa and went elsewhere and finally connected with one.
Its a **** of a place too, I got the ute to within 80 yards and ran the cable out, through chest high wringing wet fern, across the steeply banked creek, filled both boots too but all for a good end cause which is family coming for Easter.
There was an element of schitt to it too ha ha.I first made my way over the creek, one to see if I had actually shot the deer, two to work out a cable drag route.
I went back set up cable reel ran cable to deer to realise that I had left the D shackle connector back at the ute " oh you ****!" Three trips through the schitt before skull dragging the beast out to where I could winch into the back, all that pharkin work for such a little deer,a sweet fat one though. ....viva la hilux.... three cheers.
Spikey is in the shed on the gambrel, liver cooling on the bench for a fine repast later today.
I haven't gone searching for the `64 bullet but I suspect its caught in the brain box or down the spinal column.
