Both the weavers and the Recknagels are made of aluminum. I have used weaver bases almost exclusively for 40 years and they work fine. I expect the Recknagels will too, my only complaint so far is the cost when compared to the cost of Weavers.
Of course I expect these will fit properly height wise and Weaver does not make a suitable pair. I did not want to spend > $200 on Talley's that may or may not have fit well with the length of my scope. At the moment I am planning to mount my Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 and with these bases I should be able to use Burris Zee rings.
