Case capacity / H20 fill

Does anyone use the seated bullet method of

Seating a bullet in a case and weighing that dry and then filling via flash hole with blunt syringe and weighing the file case to get an accurate H20 capacity ?

Or do people use the fired case only and fill with water ?
It depends on what software you are using. PMax requires the Usable Case Capacity (UCC). So as above. Weigh the components, seat the bullet 1 calibre in. I weigh and use a tiny bit of blutack to plug the flash hole once the water is in. The weight difference is the usable case capacity UCC. Other software may just require the case capacity in which case leave the spent primer in and fill to the top with water.
The biggest advantage of the UCC method is that - when using PMax- it lets you see the percentage of fill for a given bullet weight for various powders.
