Suppose I better wade in as I fix quads for my sins.
On West coast Ireland in sheep country. The area is generally dominated by Honda but now starting to see CF Moto coming through. Actually got two outside now. One for fix, one for warranty.
Main model I am seeing is the 520.
The main problem I am seeing is ball joints, front driveshafts and a general lack of finesse/quality.
Have a customer who replaces his Hardy spicers in his front driveshaft every year.
Ball joints running at about €50 each. Strange really as you can buy spurious Chinese ones for Hondas very cheaply but can’t get spurious Chinese ones for a Chinese bike. That sounds suspicious.
So fix on the 520 I’ve just done was
4x front ball joints.
2Hardy spicer joints
Steering tie rod end
Exhaust donut
4x exhaust springs
Rubber cooling hose
Service
€542 and that includes €160 fixed price service that has oil, oil filter, spark plug and air filter (if needed).
Another thing I am finding is that the key switches are very poor.
The trouble I find with most Chinese stuff is that they copy stuff without understanding why it is made the way it is for that application. Then they bung it on something else without modifying it and wonder why it fails prematurely with rubbish materials they’ve made it with.
AND THEY ARE VERY HEAVY.
