It seems the door gasket on my chiller is leaking I’ve tried to locate a new gasket,eBay Google search but drawn a blank seems a shame to scrap the chiller for a leaking gasket details Are type C5G. 1D STELLA ARTOIS. MOD C5. CODE:C515271 hope some one can help

A sectional diagram would help, there are rubber seal manufacturers out there, can't remember who we used for seals on chicken stunner doors.

Would car door gasket work or similar. We use all sorts of seals making wooden doors and windows, also have a look at pvc door seals. You might get lucky, they often fit in a channel extruded into the door. I had some from Screwfix to fix an old pvc patio door.

Most fridge seal are magnetic and there are dozens and dozens of different profiles.
There are companies that will match the profile for you.
There is also a company called I think Buy Spares who can supply you with a replacement made up, you just put the make and model into their website and if they have it stock you can buy it to fit

There's loads of companies out there. Get a profile drawing made and take it from there.

An aside, in a job I formerly had (10 years ago) I was responsible for a missile system used onboard a UK warship. There were 3 seals in each vertical launch silo tube, the bottom one being quite exotic given the temperatures and pressures it had to survive. The silo lid seal however at the top was just an environmental seal to keep "green" water out. Yes, it could get toasted on missile launch but was an "on condition" item. Each one of those silo lid seals cost in excess of £12,000 from a well-known UK/Fr missile supplier - yes, more than a small car and there are 48 per ship! A section of seal was shown to various UK double glazing seal suppliers and, for a one-off cost of £10k for a jig, replacement seals were churned out for £99 a pop!

Extruded seals are cheap. Moulded seals not so but I doubt the door seal on your chiller is bespoke. Someone out there will be able to supply it by the metre!

In theory could you not buy the right profile seal by the metre, then just cut it at 45⁰ with a hot knife and melt/seal it to another piece to make a 90⁰ join? 4 of those and you have a seal?

The seal ony chest freezer has gone hard and brittle with age so needs replacing and I couldn't find a direct replacement.

I used this company too, it’s not the cheapest solution but the seal made a huge difference to the chiller running cost and functionality. Well worth the money in the long run.
Kindest regards, Olaf
