Cold smoking introduction

Hi folks

Any websites or good layman’s style books for introducing one’s self to dark art of cold smoking ?

any pointers to right direction appreciated

I am not sure if you have the necessary kit already, but if not give this a look:


These smokers work well - I have smoked sides of salmon and trout in these cardboard box type smokers.

The accompanying book was written by two ladies who used to do demos at the Game Fair, and ran smoking courses in Cumbria. It is very straightforwardly written. You can still buy the book direct from them here:

Ordered the book … I do fair bit bbq / hot smoking
Got voucher from work so below getting bought works paid for it !
Bit I just had smoked pheasant at a meal and wow!
The accompanying soup / broth was made with Carcasses and again wow!
I don’t know how guy did it but f&@k me!

I’ll start with cheese and see how go

When you do the cheese, stick some bulbs of garlic, and also a packet or two of regular almonds and cashews spread on a baking tray, in the smoker with it. :thumb:
