Going off on a tangent. My Mrs brings the dog some bacon like treats.
I've no idea what they taste like but they pong of bacon, in fact they smell more bacony than any bacon I've cooked!
I often wondered if they would work on Charlie.

I don’t do a lot of baiting now except close to farmyards for a problem fox but when I used to, ahem, “manage” the foxes on a large bird reserve I found that pretty much anything which smells of anything will draw them in. The best is cheapest cat/dog food well trod into the grass to make them work for it; a cheap roast chicken staked to the ground works well and they will visit within a 15mins time-slot every night so can be shot managed by appointment from the comfort of your vehicle.
Hot tip - do not under any circumstances, ever, get into your car or walk into the house having just tramped said food in. You have been warned!
