Continental tyre pooped itself.

Back the day my Mini metro ( special sized tyres job) had a total blow out .
Doing 70 mph on the M2 motor way ,proper bang screech no tyre just rim.
Sparks were flying as my bum went 2p half a penny at a rate of knots.
Terrifying doesn't cover it .
Lucky woman survived that's the main thing .

Pretty much all cars have a tyre inflation warning. Wonder if his missus has reset it when she got the warning? And then driving on it severely under inflated.

Missus car... we've all been there. I occasionally drive my wife's car and then set about ordering something for the noise/feeling I've noticed.

I kept telling her not to drive everywhere with diff lock on. She's now buggered the electronic diff lock as she has zero attention to the dash and any lights.

Modern cars are so well insulated it can be hard to tell when theres a problem especially when they are low profile.
And tyres cannot last long being driven when they are low pressure.
I drove to my local town recently with well inflated tyres (toyota avensis) 3 miles away. I turned round on an industrial estate lay-by to set off home and about a mile into the journey noticed they suspension sounded "clunky" and they steering felt a little stiffer. I decided I would pull over in the next lay-by and have a look. 400yds later I pulled over to find my passenger front tyre leaking air from a side wall hole at a high rate.
I changed for the spare tyre and took it for a new one the same day. I knew it couldn't be repaired as I could nearly fit my finger through the sidewall but I was suprised at how much "powdered rubber" the mechanic showed me inside the tyre which was the side wall wearing thin.
I just shows that tyres cannot last long being drove on flat.

Also my missus was driving the same automatic car the other day for the first time and rung me 2 miles down the road to say it was revving a lot. She had it in "drive" but pushed the stick to the side so it was in manual mode. Maybe its just me but a lot of folk have no idea when it comes to vehicles

Can’t agree more, I had a very good friend long passed. He insisted that his car windows were clean, I couldn’t read the member plate of a car stationary at 10 yards. We were driving to the channel port fron Dortmund, I asked him to stop as I needed to pee, rushed in and out bought some spray glass cleaner and did the job before he arrived back. Inihe was a bit pi**ed with me but soon understood. He never checked tyre pressures fluid levels or tyre wear, thought that the MOT was good enough. Almost always I drove 🙄

Friends wife driving to Manchester from Cannock on the M6 as the engine got noisy.
Being a " practical " woman turned the stereo up as it distracted her driving.
The red light on the dash was " pretty" ,till the car just stopped.
When we found her the engine was seized but the low oil pressure light still worked.
