Coterminous certificates

When I applied for my FAC, I overlooked making it coterminous to my existing SGC. Upon receipt of my application, my FEO contacted me to suggest doing so, at an additional cost of the princely sum of £2.
When I received my FAC, it came with a new SGC with a coterminous expiry date, with the added bonus that the new expiry date on my SGC was a couple of years beyond what it would have been.
And yes, the FEO will almost certainly want to make a separate visit to review your security arrangements.

Anyone know if getting an extension on the SGC is standard?

I've got just over 2yrs left on my SGC and am now applying for a first FAC
Wasn't sure if applying for co-terminus would get me a shorter FAC or longer SGC

They will cancel your SGC and re-issue with a new start date that is the same as your FAC.

it costs 4 quid more than a basic FAC and I get a whole new 5y on my shotguns for that

So I definitely tick that box then
