Acquiring a rifle on an open slot.

Hi everyone, a quick question here. I'm just away to collect another 22 rifle tonight that I have an open slot for on my FAC, so what paperwork do I need to complete as its as clear as mud when I read my recently renewed FAC??

I don't think I need to fill in a variation / form 201V as I have the authority to acquire already and after a look online I think i just need to complete a notification of acquisition within 7 days and send my FAC back to Police Scotland in Inverness to get amended. Any advice from you knowledgeable people on here would be gratefully received, thanks in advance!

No need to send your FAC back to police.
Seller fills in the relevant boxes on your FAC, and one or the other of you (or both) write/email police to notify of transfer
The printed details on your FAC will be updated at next renewal (or next time it's reprinted for any reason).

Get the seller to fill out the table on your certificate, email your FLD with details of the seller (name, address FAC #) serial number of the rifle and date of sale.

Set the email for a read receipt and you’re golden.

Must be within 7 days of acquiring the rifle.

Thanks VSS, much appreciated! Its been a while since i acquired one so thanks for clearing things up! I wonder if moderators do come off our FAC's, will they wait until the next renewal before they come off the tickets as well?

Thanks 25 Sharps!

You never write on your own FAC, other than to sign it when you get it.

Seller fills in the details of the firearm you are acquiring. You notify the police within 7 days. Used to be via email but now its an online form for Norfok.

Not quite true. You don't usually write on your FAC. There are circumstances where you might. Personal import of a firearm is one iirc. In my case I made one of my sound moderators so I was the only one who could legally add it.

You can also write on your FAC, if you are putting an obsolete calibre rifle you hold as S58 on ticket to shoot it.
