Covers for clip on and scope adapter bayonet ends

What are people using to keep the crud out of your thermal clip on and day scope when running a Rusan/Zeiss adapter set up in day mode?

I have mark one adapters (with throw lever) which the new Rusan flip cover won’t fit; no threaded lock screw to utilise.

Does anyone know if the lug on the locking ring is the same size on type I and the new type II? Would be straight forward to drill and tap a 3mm thread to accommodate their new flip cover, oi it fits on/over the lug.

Thanks. Do you use anything to cover the make connector end if the DTC when it is detached? Likely to get crud in it if not covered.

The clip-on sits in a small neoprene camera pouch with soft draw cord top off Amazon in a Amazon drinks bottle holder on my bino harness so is well protected. Before I started using the pouch, the outside of the lens cap was getting quite scratched.

To update on this and answer my own question, I can confirm that the locking ring is the same size on a Zeiss DTC-A 62 and a Rusan MAR-FX-62, see photo.

Makes sense as both made by Rusan.

The MAR-FX has the blanked off 3mm threaded hole in the centre of the locking ring lug, to mount their flip cap, so to modify a Zeiss DTC-A to accept the new Rusan flip cap it is simply a matter if drilling and tapping a 3mm thread in the centre of the lug.

Trust this helps others looking for a better front optic protect solution for a permangkey mounted clip on adapter.
