Got a Boker Magnum from HH ,great knife carp plastic sheath.
Slacker than a jellied eel.
Watched you tube thought I'd make 1 from leather.
Cut a strip from an old welding apron.
Oversized cut to rough shape.Marked and sewed around the blade .
Oiled the knife and wrapped in cling film to protect it.
Soaked the sheath for 30 minutes in hot not boiling water .Inserted the blade after squeezing water out .
Placed in a vacuum bag and vacuum sealed ,left for 3 hours to shape .
Removed from bag ,left to dry 24 hours job done nice and tight .
Yes my stitching is rough but it works ,tight fitting leather sheath made with my 10 thumbs 😊

Welding apron looked like it was made from decent leather. I remember my brother cutting the tongues out of my dad's hobnails for catapult pouches. I can still hear his screams from dad's leather belt...

I can remember using the tongues out of my father's boots for exactly the same purpose!
Thankfully they were old boots, and it was with his blessing. He was making himself a catapult at the same time, so we used a pair of his old boots between us.
