CZ 457

Well, I've finally gone and done it, and bought a new CZ 457 in .17 HMR. !.
I've pondered and ruminated for ages between the 457, the Bergara BMR and the Tikka T1X.
When I had them all sat in front of me, I thought that there's probably more bits and bobs available for that than the other 2 ?.
So, cash parted with ( I feel ill now ) and rifle now waiting for it to stop blimmin' raining so I can get it set up. ;)
Oh, and I almost came home with a Browning X Bolt Nordic in .308 as well. But luckily enough, I didn't quite have enough cash stashed in my sock for that one. LOL
So I'll be raking through all the ad's fro something a bit cheaper that won't involve selling bodily organs and oxygen !. 😂
Say hello guys.

The CZ457 are lovely tools, but they tend to breed in the cabinet.

My family has grown to three, with a spare stock and an extra barrel in there as well!

Also bought a CZ457 in 17hmr this year and very happy with it, I've found Remington Accutip 17gr to be the most accurate bullets followed by Hornady.

I've since read that the CZ457 can sometimes be fussy as to what torque the action screws are set at. Some sayings it makes a big difference to accuracy and some saying they didn't notice much difference. Have just set mine to 20 inch pound but yet to shoot it. Might just be something to consider 👍

Lovely rifle - enjoy!
TBH the .17 shoots sooooo flat you may not need the Zulus unless you are well past 100 yards. I have just moved mine to the .22lr for subsonic use - it is brilliant for that!

I've noticed that the Zulus mount actually stops the bolt from opening on this rail. So may need a slightly higher one, or just use the Alpex instead ?.

Hmm.
Maybe try moving the Zulus back one “hole” on the mount i.e. sacrificing one screw - no recoil off the .17 so should be fine.

I'll have a fiddle when I have half an hour spare. Though to be honest I do prefer the Alpex out of the two, so may flog the Zulus and get another Alpex ?.

on a different note, did you ever find your missing bolt?
Yes buddy. The RFD where I took it to P/X it had taken it out to check the bore and left the bugger on their bench !. LOL That RFD also happens to be the one where I bought this 457 from, so no hard feelings. LMAO

Cheers buddy. The Zulus is gone now anyway. So I'l use the Alpex 4k lite that's on the .22lr instead. ;)
