CZ455 22LR Barrel kit

Hi lads

Hope your all well during these mad times.

Thinking of putting in for variation for a 22lr barrel for my CZ455 hmr so I can swap out the barrels for some training/plinking and quieter bunny control as and when required.

I know the 455 has now been superseded by the 457 but has anyone done this and any ideas of who stocks the parts before I start firing out emails to company's trying to source such a kit? Also does anyone know if the 457 parts are interchangeable with the 455?

Any guidance much appreciated

Keep safe all 👍🏻

I appreciate this doesn’t really answer your question, but might be useful to consider nonetheless!
When I had a 455 in .17HMR, I looked into getting a .22lr barrel and mag for it. When I looked (a couple of years ago) they were a, hard to find, b, only in a varmint barrel and c, about £170. Instead, I bought a mint condition secondhand CZ452 in 22lr and stuck a £50 scope on it for less than £170 total. No need to re zero every time you want to change. Depends on cabinet space etc. But worth a think.

Hi mate

I had thought of this option but cabinet space is the limiting factor for me unfortunately hence this way of thinking. I had done some quick searching last night and seen that parts aren't stacked on shelves so not necessarily readily available at the drop of a hat. Varmint barrel is not an issue though as my HMR is 20" varmint. Cheers for the info bud

Hi, McAvoys stock them all I believe and come with the mag well and corresponding mag... scroll to the very bottom and you’ll find them. I can highly recommend the mtr match or lrp 22 barrels! Albeit mine is a 457...

Hi there

Maybe not what you want to hear given your cabinet space but just my experience. I bought my rifle as a 22 then came across a cheap spare barrel set in hmr so bought it thinking it would be a cheaper way to have 2 rifles, but, although it takes less than 5 minutes to change the barrel you do then need to go and check/adjust your zero, every time, which ever way round your swapping them, even if you count the clicks difference between the two. It has now got to the point where the hmr barrel pretty much lives in the action and I’m looking for reasonable hmr complete or even just a receiver as I have a spare scope so I could leave my hmr barrel in that action and leave the original rifle as 22 then just swap the stock over...basically I wouldn’t choose this option again, especially given the price if second hand 22lr’s in your case, but then I suppose it depends on weather you can’t warrant changing cabs to make room

In a kit you should get the barrel with thread protector and mag, but also you need the plastic spacer to make up the size difference between the two mags and the pin to hold it in, just thought I’d say in case you buy second hand

Cheers for the input bud 👍

I know it doesn't answer your question but I would tend to agree with its not worth the hassle/expense. Having to swap the barrel and rezero each time is a lot of hassle when you just want to get out shooting. If it were me I would either have 2 rifles and get a bigger cabinet (always handy if you decide to buy another gun later) or else just stick to either a 22 or 17. Not want you want to hear I know but just my 2 pence.

Sako quad barrel swaps with one screw there was a dedicated scope but it was rubbish just count no.of clicks on scope easy to do p.s.write them down  you will forget

Yerp I do it all the time . So easy too . I gave .17hmr and .22lr

When asking for variation you need to ask for the barrel not a whole rifle . Just cause you have space on your ticket for the other cal, in your case .22lr doesn't mean you can buy the barrel as essentially your not asking for a different rifle.

Barrel changes are easy and take around 2 minutes . Any questions drop me a line
