2005 Discovery 3 - HSE, bought this from a guy from work to tide me over until I fixed my Defender. Will make an cheap shooting truck or just leave off road on a permission etc. Short MOT, Nov 17, hence the price. All works fine. Only issue is the engine speed fluctuates sometimes, apparently it's being doing it for the 4 years the guys owned it. Winter tyres that do all right of road. Surprised at how capable off road it is! East Sussex area. £1300 ono

That’s bloody cheap! Cheaper tax bracket and a more capable machine you won’t find. If I didnt have a 3 and a 4 in progress I’d be sending you a deposit! Good luck with the sale.

Rev fluctuation will be the torque converter, but a pack of Dr Tranny will sort it. Mine does it badly and hasn’t changed in 2 years. MOT history is very clean for an older D3, standard items notes. I do a fair bit to them and these are THE ones to buy. Also has the extra headrest screens which are rare.

Did think about keeping it but we have to many vehicles!

Thanks for the advice about the fluctuation, but not sure I want to Google 'Dr Tranny' 😂
Yea it’s a real thing honest!!! The clutch in the torque converter glazes up, which causes the judder as it try’s to lock. The ‘fluid’ helps to make it grip. Ideally a new torque converter is needed but this makes a huge difference.

Just a quick word in praise of @Lee2495, I acquired this vehicle and it is all and more that he said it is.

We had a chat and I explained that I'd be getting to him on the train and driving it back, what does he think my chances of getting back are, fine he says, no worries, I am using it daily with no concerns at all.

He was right, I collected it earlier this week (he went out of his way to meet me at a train station that was a little closer to home for me), I got in and drove it the 204 miles to home without a hitch.

It does have the torque converter 'shudder' which he was very honest about but it also has loads of service history, loads of receipts, and as he said, everything does work (although I have not tried the TVs yet, if they work I will stand hanging 😂).

Cheers @Lee2495, it is a cracker, thank you for all your help.

Good job you bought it or I would have! Put some dr tranny in it. Dead easy as you just squirt it in the trans cooler line at the front. Stops it almost immediately and can sort it for a good while.
