DIY Dog Box project

Hope its interesting / useful ?

Been looking for ages for a dog box that would fit a TD5 and a 5 stone Labrador simultaneously with plenty of room, that didn't cost silly money, so last weekend spent the Sunday in the shed!
Used old packing plywood which was in good nick and left over headlining felt I had spare, all in cost less than £30.

Dog fits and the door just about shuts, lined it with rubberized material,

But what I want to know is why they only jump over the back seats when soaking wet through in mud?

Because they've not yet learnt the dirty filthy habit off sh*^^ing at the gate entrance of their pen, like my cockers do. Nice project by the way, well done.

Measure your sides first and the angles at the back so it can match up against the back of the seats, or use a piece of cardboard get them spot on. Copy to ply and cut two.
Work out your width and cut your base out. fit a thin frame inside the sides just on the edge ( the width of your ply) fasten to the base and fit a few cross members to strengthen. Then fill in the gaps with cut ply. Hinges straight forward. Spray adhesive and headlining felt on top. Happy to help if you have questions.

Toby is learning the ropes, so yesterday he was picking a dummy from a swollen ditch to give him the effect of a tide running, then Chip went for a swim! They went in the back...lol

Then use treated timber, thin stuff to keep the weight down.
