Why too late? It is 400g lighter and cheap

Is there something else that is about to dust it? I am not really up on these things as still using ancient tech from ages ago but an actual tubed design that offers good performance in daylight and at night and isn't north of a kilo sounds like it could be the ticket?
Seems like it's actually competing with the Alpex 4k Lite 4K... Which is lighter and cheaper still

It needs to be better and lighter than the Alpex. I won’t be changing as it just isn’t worth upgrading for me, but for people looking to move over from old tech or glass, then could well be.

Personally I want to see if they upgrade the tnc635. I am interested in one of them in 4k.

I thought that was more for airguns and small calibre. It has a very short eye relief and a smaller lens.

I will look in to it but this seems better for my needs i think but I will check all the various bumph before i buy. Cheers.

I’m not so sure, if they have made the screen a little bigger and improved the performance over the Zulus then this will certainly be a direct competitor to the full fat Alpex.

Be good to know why you say that?
IMHO the V1 picture is pretty good and the V2 is absolutely excellent both day and night - if I can see and identify foxes in pitch black at 300 plus what is there to really gain from 4k?

I would say it’s a better option that the tube4k where you need an external IR

Much rather have it all in one you unit with 4k specs

@Blackwood Outdoors do you know if theres a non LRF version in the pipeline?
Not that I know of..

This model has a larger faster lens than the Zulus V2 models, it also has the 4K sensor . So it will retain better clarity at longer range ... plus a lot of people want a traditional tube style design, its much lighter than a lot of them, plus is will provide good performance. Price is good too.

just wish they could put a VCSEL IR into the format ( tubed) and do away with need to ruin ergonomics of having an additonal lump hanging off it

im a big fan of V1 zulu ( dont have v2) and its onboard IR & capability

Me too, I would sooner have the ir built in than the lrf.

A tubed scope sitting lower gives a much better cheek weld/head position, the Zulus stands very high on the action meaning you are reaching to gain a perfect view of the screen.
The IR is miss aligned on all three of my Zulus and pointing too low, there’s nothing that can be done to alter that other than have the reticle at the bottom of the screen to give it more throw and avoid white out.
With an external IR it can be positioned according to the type of caliber you use wether its a sub 12 air rifle or long range foxing.
Setting the IR so the majority of the beam is above the mid line of the cross hairs gives much more performance for longer range shooting and minimizes white out of the fore ground.
I personally prefer the adjustability of a separate IR.
For foxing i’d take the Alpex 4K out of the cabinet every time over the Zulus, the above is some of the reasoning.
Hoping the 4K Zulus stacks up.

That’s interesting - at which magnification does the IR misalign? Mine is only noticeable at 12.5 or beyond when the lh edge slightly blurs but doesn’t impact on quarry acquisition - if the IR is screwed down to the tightest beam but as I normally use 7.5 and the IR beam fairly open and on the first setting it is never an issue. That said beyond 12.5 the LRF can be a tad difficult to find/use.
To be honest I find the IR on mid-setting, first IR power and lower magnification is all I need out to as far as I want to shoot….

All of mine suffer from some sort of interference on the left side and seem to be off center especially in poor conditions, does dissapear as you mag up, i think its becase the IR is so close to the lens. As i say, if i could i’d raise the beam too.IMG_9378.webp
