Dog beds that don't smell?

We've brought a springer into the house, he's lived in a kennel for 8 years, he's had a couple of baths but still pongs a bit!! I need a bed that'll fit into a crate/cage and that won't retain odour. Any suggestions?

Tuffies dog beds not the cheapest got them in my kennels one is twelve years old and no smells just power was when needed

change your dog food
if your dog smells so bad that the bed smells then either the food isnt working or the dog is rolling in **** too much!

Spend some time on your dog : daily curry comb, regular swim in running or clean freshwater or the sea, regular change and wash of dog bedding, gentle check and clean teeth and ears, chuck the cheap crap dog food in the bin and buy something with no added toxic waste, enjoy your dog he's worth it.

I have moved onto Howells Coldstream Crunch

£10 a 15kg bag!
compared to Eukanuba or any of the other big names I have fed her she has:
shiny coat, less faeces, less wind, put on muscle mass quicker (she was getting very lean)

cant fault it and I rarely wash the bed more than once a few weeks unless it is getting really muddy
Don't agree with the swim in the sea
might be good for them but they smell worse!

I use Kennel mate dog beds - last for ever, reasonable price and pressure washable. Make loads of sizes and colours, my Cocker has 2, one for the Lintran and one in the house.

I've had Springers and now Lab/Springer in the house for so long I have gone 'Dog Smell' numb.
I can smell a cigarette from a mile away but cannot smell any doggy smells in the house at all ;-)

You do get numb to smells. I gave a lift to a couple of non-shooting pals in my Disco. "What is that smell?" said one. "Wet dog I expect" said the other. In all probability it'll have been the damp brace of pheasants behind them. But I couldn't smell them. And I didn't tell them.

My dogs have always lived outside, there is always one off that is free to roam around the house and make a nest of choice to suit themselves while the others are kennelled in turn and now that its cooler they will have straw beds.
Dogs never smell when kept like that on clean straw. On release they will roll in the dewey grass or the white frost when out in the paddocks, its natures way of their ancient forebears.
Dogs have oils in their coats and they should smell like dogs.
I have to add that my own have never had a dog wash, their own idea is to swim in the dams or creeks after a run.
