DogFence

My elderly parents have lived in their house for over 6 decades and have always had a handful of labs. Part of their land is shared ownership. They have a new neighbour who is an arsehole and has kicked off about the dogs being on the shared land.

Due to their age they have decided rather than get lawyers involved they want to keep the dogs out of the shared land.

I was wondering if a DogFence maybe an amicable solution?

Anyone with experience of these types of fences ? Pros/Cons ?

They work, but the dogs have to be trained to stay within the designated area. Once trained, the shock should only reinforce the training. The good news is that once trained, the dogs tend to stay inside the perimeter and that makes additions to the pack easier to train too

"shared " Land ? its never is as it sounds, unfortunately, all land has an owner and its worth seeing a solicitor and have them explain that situation before branding the other side with the "A hole" tag ! My answer is never leave your dog / dogs unattended unless you have them in a kennel or your home or a very proper built run on land you actually legally own ( shared land is a misnomer in the Uk ), obviously this is the core of the issue with the neighbour . We are all responsible for our dogs , i wouldn't personally trust an electric fence to contain a motivated dog . They have a tendency to fail unexpectedly anyhow.

One of my pals had his lab escape in the last storm when the electric fence was damaged and failed. Sadly it was killed on the main road a mile away.
Maybe best to have a word with the neighbour and try to find out the problem. - might be as simple as the dog mess not being cleared…
